SEED SPICES
Cumin

The whole and ground form of cleaned and dried seeds of Cuminum cyminum. The product is greenish tan in color, with warm and bitter flavour.Cumin is a seed spice of an annual small herb of the parsley family. The plants require a mild, equable climate and a fairly long growing season of three or four months. The crop is ready for harvest when the plants begin to wither.

Coriander

The whole and ground form of cleaned, dried ripe fruits of Coriandrum Sativum L.(Annual herb of Parsley family) The seeds are light yellowish brown in colour and round in shape with a pleasant and aromatic flavour. The spice is the seed of the plant. Its small flowers are white or pinkish and its dried ripe fruits are the spice known as coriander seed. The crop requires three and one-half to four months to mature. Harvesting takes place when the colour of the seed has changed from green to yellowish-brown. The seed should be fully ripe when harvested. After harvesting the seeds are threshed, dried and stored.

Fennel

The whole and ground form of cleaned and dried seeds of Foeniculum vulgare Mill. The product is light green to grey in colour with a sweet smelling aroma

Fenugreek

The product is the ground form of Fenugreek seeds. Fenugreek is a robust herb and has light green leaves. The plant produces slender, beaked pods, each pod contains about 10 to 12 small, hard yellowish brown seeds. The seed is produced as a spice. Fenugreek grows best in well-drained loams in mild climates. The crop matures in about 3 - 4 months after sowing. After the seeds mature the plants are uprooted and dried, so that the seeds then can be threshed, winnowed, dried once more and stored.

Celery Seeds

The whole and ground form of dried and cleaned seeds of Apium graveolens L. Celery is an aromatic, herbaceous plant grown for its leaves, seeds, oleoresin and essential oil.Celery is cultivated in many parts of the world from Asia (mainly India and China) to the Americas (mainly the US) to Europe (Poland, France) and North Africa with Egypt being the main producer.The dried ripped fruits are used as a spice whereas the dried leaves and stalks are used in salads and soups. It is also widely used in meat seasonings, confectionaries and baked goods
